The Feuerstein petting zoo offers both children and adults the opportunity to get up close to animals and experience the nature of the Pflerschtal Valley in a mindful way. Alpacas, donkeys, sheep, goats, chickens, rabbits and cats look forward to curious visitors and gentle moments of affection.

Set in a peaceful location and surrounded by the mountains of the Pflerschtal Valley, the petting zoo provides the animals with plenty of space to move, graze and rest. Here, special encounters are created that remain in the hearts of our guests – especially children – for a long time.

Is the petting zoo open all year round, or is it seasonal?

The petting zoo at the Feuerstein is open all year round. Families can visit the animals in every season, whether in summer between meadows and mountain air or in winter surrounded by the snowy nature of the Pflerschtal valley. In this way, the Feuerstein brings little animal moments into every family holiday as a farm hotel in South Tyrol.

From what age can children interact with the animals independently, or is adult supervision required?

Children are welcome to observe the animals at the Feuerstein and get to know them more closely in accompanied moments. Independent interaction with the animals is not intended. For the wellbeing of the animals and the safety of the children, animal encounters always take place mindfully and with appropriate supervision.

What other animal experiences are available for children at the Feuerstein?

In addition to the petting zoo, more special animal moments await children at the Feuerstein. At the equestrian centre, little and big guests get to know horses and ponies, experience mindful interaction with the animals and, depending on their age, can take part in pony rides, riding lessons or other horse-related activities. A visit to the petting zoo can therefore be wonderfully combined with an experience at the Feuerstein riding stables.

Is visiting the petting zoo included in the room price, or is there an additional fee?

For hotel guests, visiting the petting zoo is always free of charge and included in the stay. Families can therefore visit the animals at any time and enjoy little farm moments in a relaxed and uncomplicated way.
